Apple's iPhone 6 may have bigger screen, analyst says
Apple may be working on a larger iPhone, but don't expect to see it this summer.
In a note to investors, Jeffries analyst Peter Misek speculates that Apple will launch an iPhone 6 with a larger screen in June 2014, reports the Financial Post.
Industry rumors suggestthat Apple will announce an iPhone 5S in June. Misek says Apple's supply chain won't be ready to switch screen sizes for two or three quarters, making it unlikely that the next iPhone will have a larger size.
Some of the upgrades Misek says will come to the new iPhone include new colors, faster processor and a better camera, the Post reports. The new iPhone could also see near-field communications (NFC) technology and fingerprint authentication.
Apple increased its screen size for the first time when it announced the iPhone 5 in September 2012. The screen went from 3.5-inches to 4-inches. At the time, Apple said it wanted to increase the height of the phone, but wanted to maintain the width to be a comfortable size to hold.
The iPhone's main competitor Samsung's flagship smartphone,the Galaxy S IV, has a 5-inch screen.
