Apple MacBook Pro gets quiet update
(CBS) -Apple updated their MacBook Pro line without fanfare or a price change over the weekend.
All three models had slight tweaks to their CPUs, hard drives and graphics cards. These subtle upgrades aren't life-changing, but they will keep up with our growing software updates.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro got a 2.4 gigahertz processor, which is a slight improvement over its previous 2.3GHz. The hard drive now packs 500 gigabytes, up from 320GB. The more expensive 13-inch MacBook Pro got a 2.8GHz processor and 750GB, up from the 2.7GHz processor and 500GB hard drive.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro got a similar processor upgrade from 2GHz to 2.2GHz. No change in hard drive space. The graphics got a boost with AMD's Radeon HD 6750M card and 512 megabytes of RAM.
The 17-inch MacBook Pro went from a 2.2 GHz to 2.4GHz processor and AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics card with 1 GB of RAM.
The MacBook Pro has been part of the Apple family since 2006. The current unibody aluminum design debuted in 2008. Entry price for the laptop computer is $1,199.
