Antonella Barba, former "American Idol" contestant, busted for shoplifting, says report
(CBS) Former "American Idol" contestant Antonella Barba, who became widely recognized beyond the stage when she posed in a wet T-shirt at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., was allegedly caught shoplifting from a Manhattan store, according to a report.
The 24-year-old was in an Urban Outfitters last December when she was reportedly caught smuggling a pair of gloves for a whopping $18.81 from the trendy retailer.
Authorities charged the New Jersey native with two misdemeanors, and ordered her to serve one day of community service, according to the New York Post.
Her lawyer, Keith Sullivan, declined to comment on the incident, reports the paper.
Barba appeared on the sixth season of the hit show "American Idol," reaching the top 16 before she was eliminated from the competition.
