(CBS/AP) CLEVELAND - It's been 18 months since Anthony Sowell was charged with murder in the gruesome killings of 11 women. Prosecutors say that's plenty of time to be ready for trial next Monday, but attorneys for the 51-year-old alleged "Cleveland strangler" say they need at least six more months to prepare.

The judge plans to meet with both sides Wednesday at a previously scheduled hearing.

Prosecutors say relatives of the victims and the community deserve timely justice.

The defense submitted statements Tuesday from four experts who say they need more time.

Sowell is accused of killing the women and hiding their remains in and around his home. He has pleaded not guilty.

He could get the death penalty if convicted.
