Another 'Wish' Is Granted

The Early Show's "Week of Wishes" series continues Tuesday when another member of the U.S. military family finds his or her dream come true.

The first "Week of Wishes" of 2003 is dedicated to the members of the U.S .military and the people who support them. It is the first of the series to have a theme.

On Monday, a retiring Air Force officer and his family were given a New York vacation.

Lt. Col. Ricard Smith and his family were honored for taking a personal interest in and offering a helping hand to the many people Smith met as he criss-crossed the globe on his Air Force missions. Smith logged more than 5,000 hours of flight time in a distinguished military career that ended Friday.

The Smith family's dedication inspired Rev. Camilla Hempstead, their pastor in Cabot, Ark., to write The Early Show's "Week Of Wishes" on their behalf.

On Tuesday, The Early Show rewards someone who has given help a little closer to home.
