Anne Hathaway lands TV role
Anne Hathaway is on her way to the small screen.
The Oscar-winning actress has landed a role in a limited series adaptation of Jennifer Steil's novel, "The Ambassador's Wife." She will both star in and produce the series alongside Mark Gordon, who has served as a producer on "Criminal Minds."
The story centers on the wife of the British Ambassador to Yemen who has been kidnapped.
"'The Ambassador's Wife' is an incredible story that pulls you in immediately and resonates with all of us based on the images and news headlines that are pervasive in our lives today," Gordon said in a statement. "We are so fortunate to have Anne starring in this timely, gripping and compassionate drama. She is in a league all her own and we cannot think of anyone who can better portray Steil's complex heroine."
Right now the series is not attached to any network.
Hathaway, meanwhile, will next be seen on the big screen alongside Robert De Niro in "The Intern."
