Anna Nicole Investigation Continues
The Florida Medical Examiner's finding in the autopsy of Anna Nicole Smith have been delayed, a spokeswoman from the Broward Country Medical Examiner's office confirmed to the The ShowBuzz on Thursday.
Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper received a phone call from Seminole police informing him that they have additional evidence that will delay the announcement by up to two weeks, a spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said that the Seminole police agency's findings may or may not influence Dr. Perper's results.
"From my end, there is nothing dramatic in this," Perper told Jane Velez-Mitchell Thursday on TV's "Nancy Grace." "I want to make sure that all of the evidence that is available is reviewed by me. Either this evidence is going to reinforce my conclusion or to weaken them or to change them."
He promised that the autopsy report will be "extremely extensive."

Smith, 39, was found dead in a Florida hotel room on Feb. 8.
The Playboy pinup was buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Bahamas next to her son, Daniel, after a lengthy and public battle in Florida court. Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, had wanted her daughter to be buried in Texas with the rest of her family.
On Feb. 9, investigators said that they found prescription medicines but no illegal drugs in Smith's hotel room.Photos: Anna Nicole Smith — Tragedy Strikes Photos: Anna Nicole Smith — Her Life
A preliminary autopsy found no pills in her stomach but officials awaited the results of toxicological tests that would indicate whether she had taken drugs, Dr. Perper said at the time. The medical examiner ruled out any types of physical injury such as gunshot wound, asphyxiation or blunt trauma on the body.
