Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent" spreads her wings in new clip

Did you ever watch "Sleeping Beauty" and wonder why, when all the other fairies in the animated classic could fly, the evil Maleficent could not?

Honestly, it hadn't occurred to us before now. But it appears that question will be addressed in the upcoming retelling "Maleficient," starring Angelina Jolie as the title character.

A new clip from the live-action Disney film explains that the villainess does have wings -- at least, she used to.

"They were stolen from me," she reveals.

Those wings -- black, feathered, ominous-looking ones -- can be seen in the clip below.

"Maleficent" will open in theaters on May 30.
