"American Idol": One of the girls goes home
After weeks of male eliminations, it was time for one of the girls to go home on Thursday's "American Idol."
Janelle Arthur became the first of the Top 10 girls to be eliminated, after receiving the lowest number of votes.
The 23-year-old Tennessee native's performance of Dolly Parton's "Dumb Blonde" during Wednesday's episode did not receive much acclaim from the judges.
Arthur, who was in the bottom two along with Kree Harrison, revisited her version of The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On" from Motown Week for her save song. But the judges were split 2-2, meaning they wouldn't be keeping her in the competition.
The episode also featured performances from past "Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino and runner-up Clay Aiken, and a visit from former judge Paula Abdul, who congratulated Candice Glover for her performance of "Straight Up."
