Amber alert issued for missing Alabama girl, age 5

MOBILE, Ala. -- Alabama officials have issued an Amber alert for a missing 5-year-old girl, reports CBS affiliate WKRG.

The Union Springs Police Department and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are asking for the public's assistance in locating Aaliyah Linton, according to the station, which reports that the child was last seen around 8:40 a.m. Thursday at Union Springs Elementary School in Bullock County, and is believed to be in extreme danger.

The 5-year-old girl was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue pants, and was abducted by two unknown black females, reported the station. She is reportedly 4 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

One of the abductors was believed to be in the mid to late forties and the second subject's age was unknown, according to the station.

The subjects may be traveling in a maroon-colored van with North Carolina license plates, according to WKRG.
