KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Police in Tennessee are searching for a 2-year-old girl they believe was taken by her father, and they have charged the man with murder in the death of the girl's mother.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday afternoon for Brooklynne Enix, who they think is with 36 year-old Tyler Ward Enix.
Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk told the Knoxville News Sentinel that officers found 36-year-old Kimberly Enix dead while performing a welfare check. Her daughter was missing.
Early Thursday morning, police made a public plea to Tyler Enix to leave the child at a safe place if he wanted to keep running, and to call 911 to let them know the child is unharmed, reports CBS affiliate WVLT.
Police issued an Amber Alert and a warrant charging Tyler Ward Enix with murder. Police say Enix may be traveling in a 2011 black, four-door Chevrolet Impala with Tennessee tag G6116U. Police say he is 6-foot-2, 205 pounds and bald with blue eyes. The girl is 3 feet tall, 38 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.
Police say Tyler and Kimberly Enix were in the process of divorce, reports the station.
Tyler Enix is considered armed and dangerous. He was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted List Thursday.
Anyone who sees the two is urged to call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
