Va. police investigate man's "suspicious death" in park

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Police in suburban Virginia are investigating what they're calling a "suspicious death" after a man was found dead who they say suffered from trauma to the upper body, reports CBS affiliate WUSA.

The body was found at Beverly Park in Alexandria at approximately 8 a.m. Monday, according to local police.

Neighbors told WUSA that a dog walker called 911 after her dogs found the body. The man appeared to have his throat slit, they said.

According to CBS radio station WNEW 99.1., the death has sine been ruled a homicide. Police reportedly said the victim was identified as a 24-year-old Hispanic man from Alexandria.

The victim's name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to the radio station.
