(CBS/AP) TACOMA, Wash. - A Tacoma woman who called 911 Friday and said she had killed her 2-year-old son has been charged with first-degree murder.

At an initial court appearance Monday, 28-year-old Aleesha Walker was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she is competent to stand trial.

She is being held without bail.

The Pierce County prosecutor's office says Walker reported hearing voices and acted as directed by the voices. She said she struck the boy's head on a dresser and smothered him.

Arriving officers found Noah Walker's body, reports CBS affiliate KEPR. He was declared dead at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma.

The prosecutor's office says Walker had been referred several times in the past to Child Protective Services. A CPS representative told CBS affiliate KIRO there was no sign in any reports that Walker posed a danger to her son.

According to KIRO, Walker has a criminal history that included convictions for prostitution and assault charges.
