Alec Baldwin helps NY school raise money for sports
(CBS/AP) Alec Baldwin helped a high school in central New York over the weekend to raise money to save its sports programs.
The "30 Rock" star was in the Syracuse area to help West Genesee High School's fundraising campaign to save its modified sports program. One of Baldwin's nephews plays sports at the high school and his mother and two sisters live in the area.
The actor attended the event on Sunday in the high school's gym. He donated $25,000 to save modified sports at West Genesee this school year and is helping raise money for next year's programs.
Baldwin grew up on Long Island, where his father was a high school football and baseball coach.
