Abby Elliott to leave "Saturday Night Live," report says

(CBS News) Abby Elliott is saying goodbye to "Saturday Night Live."

The cast member, who joined in the 2008-2009 season, told Splitsider that she would not be returning to the sketch comedy show for the new season.

In her four seasons on the show she impersonated many public figures including, Rachel Maddow, Zooey Deschanel, Angelina Jolie and Meryl Streep.

Elliot, the daughter of former "SNL" cast member Chris Elliott, joins co-stars Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, who both announced that they will not be returning for the show's 38th season.

Cast member Jason Sudeikis' status is still unknown. In a recent interview with the Los Angles Times , he suggested that he could be leaving the show saying, "To stay just for the juice of being in the public eye - of being Mitt Romney - is not enough. "

The new season of "SNL" kicks off on Sept. 15.
