A source with knowledge of the matter reportedly told the magazine that the subpoena is related to the investigation into Aaron Hernandez, the former Patriots star who is charged with murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd.
The source reportedly said police are looking into Hernandez's potential involvement in interstate gun trafficking.
According to the magazine, the 24-year-old Pouncey is a close friend of Hernandez and played football with him at the University of Florida.

Neither Pouncey nor the Miami Dolphins have commented on the situation. Pouncey reportedly traveled back to Miami with the Dolphins on Sunday night.
The month after Hernandez's June 26 arrest, Mike Pouncey and his twin brother, Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, were photographed in a nightclub wearing "Free Hernandez" hats. The photograph surfaced on social media and Maurkice Pouncey later apologized, saying, "I regret that my actions appear to make light of that serious situation," reports the magazine.
Sports Illustrated reports that a Steelers spokesman declined all comment, including when asked if Maurkice Pouncey had been served.
Hernandez, 23, was indicted in Augustin the June 17 killing of the 27-year-old Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and five weapons-related charges last month and is being held without bail at a county jail.
