A Setback For Mike Wallace
Mike Wallace said his "hearing, memory and sight have suffered" because he hit his head when he fell a few weeks ago. He slipped and fell on a jetty while on vacation in Martha's Vineyard off the Massachusetts coast in mid-August.
Wallace walked away from the accident. But he later checked into a
hospital for a few days of observation. Doctors said he's fine. But Wallace said he knows his hearing, memory and his sight are not the same.
Wallace is out and about. He took part in a panel discussion about "60 Minutes" and accepted a lifetime achievement award from the National Television Academy.
He's researching stories for the upcoming season and starts doing interviews next week. Wallace is 85. He'd already announced he was cutting
back on the number of stories he'll do for "60 Minutes."
