A Look At Daniel Radcliffe
In a book of photographs featuring Daniel Radcliffe of "Harry Potter" fame, author and photographer Tim Hailand captures Radcliffe's day from start to finish. Hailand spoke with "Up to the Minute" anchor Michelle Gielan about the project, "One Day in the Life of Daniel Radcliffe."
Hailand has photographed other performers for his "One Day in the Life of..." series, but decided to focus on Radcliffe because he was a friend and art collector. "He was interested in the project, and he's an interesting person," says Hailand. He photographed Radcliffe during the New York run of the play "Equus."
The book is a photojournal of Radcliffe's typical day. "The first image is Dan in bed around 10:00am," says Hailand. "Following him waking up, having breakfast. There's one image of him where he was - he had a bit of a cold, so he was steaming. He had a towel over his head and he was breathing in... menthol." Later on, the book shows Radcliffe going to an acting lesson, rehearsing for Equus and signing autographs for fans after a performance.
In addition to bringing fans a side of Radcliffe that they've never seen, "One Day in the Life of Daniel Radcliffe" also benefits a good cause: a portion of the proceeds go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. For more information on the organization, click here.
