A German Castle For Cage
He's got an Oscar, an island in the Bahamas and a castle in Bavaria.
Last year, actor Nicolas Cage bought a dilapidated 11th century estate called Schloss Neidstein in Etzelwang, Germany, and has set about restoring it to its former glory.
According to a Bavarian newspaper, the actor, whose grandmother is from Germany, purchased the estate in July 2006 for $2.6 million.
Neidstein castle sits on a hill with a stunning view of its 395 acres of forest, meadows and fields. The 9,688-square-foot castle has 28 rooms, including 10 bedrooms and five bathrooms.
There's no word how much time Cage, who won his Oscar in 1996 for "Leaving Las Vegas," will be spending there, but he apparently has a thing for castles.

He reportedly lives in a fake castle with his wife and son on the outskirts of Los Angeles and once planned to ship a real castle there from Europe, but bought this one after a visit to Germany.
