A Fool In Love: Larenz Tate
Why Do Fools Fall in Love is a Frankie Lymon song, and a new movie based on Lymon's life, which included unions to three women.
Actor Larenz Tate snared the Lymon role, and CBS This Morning Co-Anchor Mark McEwen dropped by the Hit Factory recording studio in New York to talk about Lymon and his loves.
Tate says he learned something about Frankie Lymon, the man: "Charismatic, charming. Electric on stage. He was also a bit of a ladies' man."
Tate gets to romance three women in the movie, Halle Berry, Vivica Fox, and Lela Rochon. He praises all three. Where does he go for his own reviews?
"Sometimes I might sneak into a theater just to see the reaction. It's really an opportunity to see what the core audience feels."
Sometimes, he says, it's necessary to disguise himself:
"I have to sort of go, you know, in down low, put a little baseball cap on, and sneak on into a theater, just to see."
His plans for the future? He says he wants to direct and produce.
