A Brit Of A Texas Accent

International movie star Michael Caine has over 85 films under his belt, two Academy Award wins, a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth and countless new projects on the horizon.

His latest is a family film called "Secondhand Lions." He and fellow screen legend Robert Duvall play "Sixth Sense" star Haley Joel Osment's eccentric great uncles.

Caine will make a visit to The Early Show on Wednesday to tell how he came to play a Texan in a family movie.

In "Secondhand Lions," 14-year-old Walter (Osment) visits his great uncles' farm in rural Texas — the last place he would like to spend the summer. But he finds the two eccentric and gruff men, Hub and Garth McCaan (Duvall and Caine), are hiding something about their past, which makes Walter's time in Texas a little more interesting.

Walter believes his great uncles have an endless supply of money, and he makes it his mission to find the source of the cash.

Caine says he was attracted to work on the film because it was a family movie, and he wanted to experience something different from his usual projects. The British actor says it's not too difficult playing a Texan, but a lot of work must be spent to perfect the accent. He does credit his dialogue coach for helping him achieve the dialect.

Caine has worked with Duvall before, in 1983. Both actors played Nazis in 1977's "The Eagle has Landed."

Fast Facts About Michael Caine:
