4 elderly people killed in Va. tractor-trailer crash
NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. – Four people have died after the collision of a tractor-trailer and Hyundai Sonata in eastern Virginia, CBS affiliate WTKR reports.
The crash happened on Route 13 around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, the Hyundai was attempting to make a turn when the tractor-trailer hit the vehicle.
Police say two men and two women in the car have died. The driver was 87 years old, and the three passengers were 80, 78 and 76.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was expected to survive.
The names of the deceased have not been released, but police told WTKR they are from Northampton County.
