(CBS) - A 3-foot-11-inch man, who gained notoriety for his small stature, pleaded guilty yesterday for the killing of a Maryland man last May.

Henry Chavez, 29, confessed in the Montgomery County Circuit Court Tuesday to the shooting 27-year-old Hamington Luis Orozco of Silver Springs, reports the Washington Examiner.

Chavez reportedly shot Orozco three times in the head after a verbal disagreement, according to the plea deal.

Orozco died in the Suburban Hospital and Chavez fled, leading the police on a months long chase.

Police were able to label Chavez as a suspect after witnesses described the shooter as a 4-foot tall man, according to prosecutors.

Chavez was finally arrested in El Salvador in February, according to the Examiner.

This isn't Chavez's first encounter with the law. He was charged with drug possession and distribution in 2008, and was sentenced to 9 months in jail, reports the Examiner.

Chavez is reportedly scheduled to be sentence on July 18th, where prosecutors plan to ask for the maximum penalty of 30 years in jail.
