21-year-old shot dead outside parents' Mass. home, might be drug related, say cops
(CBS) RANDOLPH, Mass. - A 21-year-old was shot and killed outside his parents' home in Randolph, police say.
CBS Boston reports four people were arrested after the shooting late Saturday night. The victim, Kyle McManus, was shot in what was known as a "quiet residential area of the town" according to law enforcement officials.
19-year-old Allison Deshowitz, 18-year-olds Devonte Thames and Brian Moulton and 17-year-old Nathan Lugo were arrested in connection with the shooting, the suburb about 20 miles south of Boston. Officials say the killing may have been drug-related.
Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said about the shooting, "We want to assure the neighbors that this is a something we think was an isolated incident."
The Boston Globe reports that despite the suspicion the shooting was drug-related, there has been no final conclusion on the killing's motive.
Morrissey said McManus may have known one of the suspects, but he did not specify which one. The District Attorney declined to say if police have recovered the gun used in the attack.
Police worked through the night to track down the four suspects after witnesses at the scene said a Jeep had left the area. They were arrested at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the residence of one of the suspects.
McManus was a recent graduate of Randolph High School.
