2015 AFC Championship game has a familiar feel

The AFC Championship game sure has the feeling of déjà vu. It's the Patriots' fourth-straight appearance in the AFC title game.

Tom Brady will start his ninth AFC Championship Game for the Patriots, a record for most championship games started by anyone, writes CBSSports.com's Will Brinson. Joe Montana is next on the list with seven.

This is also the third time in Tom Brady's career the Indianapolis Colts have stood in the New England Patriots' way, just one game before the Super Bowl.

The teams split the first two AFC championship meetings, but there's a big difference in Sunday's matchup: the other number 12.

Andrew Luck was drafted to be the replacement for Brady's top football rival, Peyton Manning. The young, plucky former Stanford quarterback has lived up to every bit of the hype so far. Most experts knew he'd make it this deep in post-season eventually. The only surprise may be that he did it so soon.

CBSSports.com's John Breech points out that there's a lot more to this game than history and great quarterbacks. These two teams have already met two times in the last year, despite not playing in the same division.

New England has been able to run all over the Indy defense. In New England's playoff victory last January, running back LeGarrette Blount ran for 166 yards and four touchdowns. New England ended the game with 234 rushing yards, the second-highest postseason total in franchise history. When the two teams met again this season, Jonas Gray ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns.

Additionally, Luck is 0-3 all-time against New England and in two of the three losses Luck played uncharacteristically horribly, Breech writes. Still, Luck is 12-0 when playing a team a second time in a season.
