2012 Olympics: Medal-winning gymnasts to go on tour
(CBS News) The American darlings of the 2012 Olympics - Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross - won't be getting rest any time soon.
The five who comprise the U.S. women's gymnastics team are embarking on a tour that U.S. gymnastics chief Steve Penny tells Reuters will be the biggest thing since the British pop group the Spice Girls toured America in the 1990s.

"The Fierce Five," as they call themselves, return from London Monday and embark on tour that starts Sept. 8 in San Jose. By the time it concludes Nov. 18 in New York, the gymnasts will have performed in 40 different cities.
"The athletes don't know what's happening back in the States, how it is playing out" Penny told Reuters. "You go home and you are able to get a sense of how America saw this and these girls are literally American idols. They have gotten to that level of popularity."
And before they go on tour, they will face the cameras and microphones of the morning and evening talk shows.
