Two arrested, including teen girl, in N.C. woman's stabbing death
LA GRANGE, N.C. - Authorities say two suspects were arrested after a woman was found dead in her La Grange home in east-central North Carolina, according to CBS affiliate WRAL.
Deputies found Wanda Lee Dethlefson dead around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the station. Twenty-year-old Roderick Rico Wyche and a teenage girl were arrested Monday and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the case.
Investigators allege both suspects planned the killing, in which they say Wyche stabbed the victim with a knife from her home. They also say the girl helped plan and carry out the crime and later provided false information to conceal the 20-year-old's identity.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the slaying, according to WRAL.
Wyche is being held without bond in the Lenoir County jail; the girl is in custody at a juvenile detention center.
