13-Year-Old Kiara Hodges Missing: Atlanta Girl Disappeared Monday
COLLEGE PARK, Atlanta (CBS) Police in Atlanta are looking for a 13-year-old College Park girl who disappeared from her home late Monday evening, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Fulton County Police say Kiara Hodges was last seen on June 21 around 9 p.m. before she was reported missing by her mother, Telina Shelby, according to the paper.
After 48 hours and no word from the girl, it is believed that the young girl is in danger.
"She left out of the house and witnesses say they saw a black, brand new pick-up truck stop near her," Shelby told the paper.
Shelby told police that the family was new to the area and had moved in with a church member after losing their home, reports the paper.
According to the police report, Kalani Shelby, Shelby's oldest daughter, was watching Kiara the night she went missing. Kalani was feeding her baby and decided to check on her sister; however, it is believed that the 5-foot-2, 110 pound girl slipped out the rear door without being noticed.
At the time of her disappearance, Kiara was wearing an orange top with blue jeans, and her black hair was in braids. She has large, round brown eyes, and was carrying a book bag, says the paper.
Shelby added that Kiara was an honor student and a camper at the World Changers Ministries.
The Fulton County Police ask if anyone has information regarding Kiara Hodges' whereabouts to please call Detective T.N. Pritchett at 404-613-9134 or 404-317-9169.
