1 man killed, 4 children stabbed in Ohio attack
SPRINGDALE, Ohio - One man was killed and four children were stabbed in a Thursday attack at an apartment complex in a Cincinnati suburb, reports CBS affiliate WKRC.
There have reportedly been no arrests so far.
A call came in at 12:33 a.m. on July 2 for a trouble run. When police responded to the complex in Springdale, they heard loud music playing and found five people stabbed. The four children range from young children to teenagers.
The condition of the victims is unknown, but some of them reportedly required surgery.
Police have not released the name of the man who was killed. The family involved is Hispanic, and communication has been said to be an issue in gathering information from witnesses. However, investigators don't believe this to be a domestic incident.
Springdale Police haven't said if they think the stabbings were random or a violent act among acquaintances. People at the apartment complex are reportedly on edge.
Police say a trail of blood wraps around several of the apartment buildings and there were reportedly at least 14 evidence markers placed around the crime scene.
Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called in for the crime. So far, no weapon has been found.
