1 dead in police-involved shooting in New York City
NEW YORK - A New York City police officer shot and killed a man in Brooklyn Thursday after the man slashed the officer in the neck, sources tell CBS New York.
The incident took place at around 1:30 p.m. when the officer intervened in a domestic dispute at the Ocean Parkway stop on the Q subway line, sources said.
The suspect stabbed the officer in the shoulder and slashed him in the neck before the officer fired twice, killing him, sources said.
The officer was rushed to Lutheran Hospital and is expected to survive, according to the station.
