Sheriff: Albertville Man Shoots, Kills Black Bear In Yard

A man shot and killed a black bear in Albertville Tuesday night after it was spotted in his yard while his daughter was outside playing, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office. Authorities received a call at about 7:45 p.m. that a black bear had been seen on the 10000 block of 64th Street NE in Albertville. The caller, Lawrence Engstrom, told authorities the bear walked up to their sliding glass door in the back yard.

Police: Serial Fast-Food Armed Robbery Suspect Caught

Maple Grove Police have arrested a man suspected of a month-long armed-robbery spree that mostly targeted fast-food restaurants along the Interstate 94 corridor. According to authorities, Douglas Wayne Gravelle was taken into custody on Thursday. This arrest comes after a string of armed robberies which began in early September. Fast-food restaurants in Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud, Big Lake, Clearwater and Monticello were targeted. A Game Stop video game store in Monticello may also have been robbed by Gravelle earlier this month.

Police Say Man Found Dead In Annandale Home Was Murdered

Police say the 42-year-old man found dead in an Annandale home Saturday morning was murdered. The body of Kyle Greene was discovered inside of a residence on Poplar Avenue North Saturday morning. According to Annandale Police Chief Jeff Herr, the Midwest Medical Examiner's office ruled Greene's death a homicide, but Herr did not elaborate. Anyone with information is asked to call the Annandale Police or Wright County Sheriff's Office at 763-682-1162.

One Dead, Another Injured In Separate Wright Co. Farming Accidents

Two 54-year-old men were involved in two separate farming accidents on two separate farms in Stockholm Township, with one reported dead from his injuries. According to the Wright County Sheriff's office, the first accident happened on Friday evening when a 54-year-old man from Hutchinson was trying to remove corn stalks that were jamming a corn chopper on a farm on Quimby Avenue Southwest, near Cokato. His jacket got caught, and the man was pulled in to the machine. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
