Anoka Co. Teacher Investigated After Photos Of Students Found On Computer

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says there is a criminal investigation underway into a contracted teacher for St. Francis and Spring Lake Park schools. According to the sheriff's office, the investigation began after the St. Francis School District Interim Superintendent Troy Ferguson reported some concerning conduct that was alleged against the contracted teacher, identified as 66-year-old David Wayne Harrell of Chaska, Minn.

St. Paul Schools To Hand Out iPads To Students

The St. Paul school district plans to hand out iPads to all students in the next school year. That year, the district sought and won voter approval of a $9 million-per-year technology initiative that was to create a "teaching and learning platform," or Facebook-like webpage, through which teachers and students could interact, according to the Star Tribune. Its proponents insisted that the initiative was not about supplying devices to students.

Anoka Co. Armed Robbery Spree Ends With Bite From K-9 Cop

Three suspects are in police custody, and one is recovering from injuries sustained from a K-9 officer, after a robbery spree in Anoka County Thursday night. According to Blaine Police, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to three separate reports of armed robberies in the area between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The first report was on the 1000 block of County Road 10 in Spring Lake Park, the second was near Able Street Northeast and 87th Lane Northeast in Blaine and the third was on the 1100 block of 95th Avenue Northeast, also in Blaine. Descriptions from witnesses about the suspects, their vehicle and weapon (a shotgun or rifle) tied all three crimes together.
