Hundreds of customers flocked to the Red Lake Reservation on Tuesday to buy marijuana at the first retail dispensary in Minnesota, on the same day recreational use became legal.
Cultivated CBD, like many others this week, is expanding its business and selling those sought-after seeds. The owner there, Anthony Newby, says they've already sold 12,000 seeds so far since preorders began Monday night.
"We want to create a good collaborative relationship with all Minnesotans, and we hope that the people who come here share that same mentality," said Red Lake Nation Tribal Secretary Samuel Strong.
Beginning Tuesday, it will be legal for adults in the state of Minnesota who are 21 and older to possess and grow cannabis.
Red Lake and White Earth reservations, which are both four-to-five-hour drives from the metro, are the only places selling cannabis on Aug. 1.
