Warmer Temps Makes President's Day Snow Bearable

When the snow is piled so high that your neighborhood is almost unrecognizable, why not grab your friends and pile on. While the kids built snow forts and had snowball fights in one Champlin neighborhood, the adults worked by clearing sidewalks and driveways. Katie Matzke says the milder temperatures make this storm much easier to endure. "Today is just great. The kids can get out and have so much fun in the snow, and get some of their wiggles out, whereas before when it was so cold they couldn't even go outside," Matzke said. "I mean, it was just plain too dangerous.

Mpls., St. Paul, Plymouth Declare Snow Emergencies

After Tuesday night's snow fall, Minneapolis, St. Paul and plymouth have declared snow emergencies. Starting at 9 p.m. Wednesday night, parking is prohibited on both sides of Snow Emergency routes in Minneapolis. Then beginning Thursday at 8 a.m., you are not allowed to park on the even side of non-snow emergency streets. In St. Paul, parking is not allowed on all Night Plow routes beginning on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Then on Thursday at 8 a.m., plowing of Day Route streets will begin.

2 Injured After Motorcycle, Minivan Collide In St. Louis Co.

Two people are being treated with non-life-threatening injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a minivan Saturday near Babbitt, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's office. At 1:15 p.m., 67-year-old Susan Fetterer of Plymouth attempted to turn on to northbound Highway 21 and collided with a motorcycle. Thirty-five-year-old Dewi Webb, the motorcycle driver, and 36-year-old passenger Tiffany Webb were ejected from the bike on impact.

Plymouth Woman Killed In Motorcycle Accident

A Plymouth woman is dead after her husband lost control of his motorcycle while driving in Indiana Thursday morning, according to authorities. Lori K. Rutten, 55, and her husband Roger, 59, where driving northbound on I-65 in Lake County on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle when Roger switched lanes and struck an uneven portion of the road. The motorcycle flipped, and both passengers were ejected over barrier cables, eventually landing on a grassy portion of the median.
