After 43 years on the job, a very good Metro Transit bus driver has retired. On Wednesday morning, Jerry Olson said goodbye to some of the 23 million riders he's served over the years.
As of Monday morning, there was less congestion on Nicollet Mall. Buses are not allowed on the downtown stretch because of construction work for the Nicollet Mall redesign. The construction project on Nicollet Mall is expected to last through 2017.
Beginning Monday morning, you won't see any buses driving down Nicollet Mall for a while. Work will be underway on the Nicollet Mall project and during the 2015 construction season, the work will primarily consist of the installation or repairing of utility systems.
