Fired Gov't Worker Charged With Accessing Info On 800 Day Care Providers

A human services worker, fired for identity theft, has been charged with burglary and theft after returning to her former workplace, stealing office equipment and accessing the private information of almost 800 daycare providers, according to the Anoka County Attorney's office. On the evening of July 9, 2013, 53-year-old Jan Michelle Gray gained access to the fourth floor of the Anoka County Human Services Building in Blaine by telling a custodian that she forgot her badge, according to a criminal complaint.

Metro Transit Provides Free New Year's Eve Rides For 3rd Year

Metro Transit and Miller Lite will provide free bus and light rail rides on New Year's Eve for the third year in a row. From 6 p.m. till the last scheduled trip, residents will be treated to complimentary rides on all Metro Transit buses and light rail, METRO Blue and Red lines, Plymouth Metrolink, Anoka County and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority buses. Metro Transit officials say they have provided more than one million rides through the Miller Free Rides Program on New Year's Eve, and for the last 16 years on St. Patrick's Day.

Family, Friends Search For Man Last Seen In Anoka

An Anoka family is searching for a missing father of two. Kevin Casserly, 22, was last seen near the North Star station in Anoka on Nov. 12. Casserly has not contacted his family or shown up to work at Lakeland Tool. Kevin's sister, Alex Casserly, says her brother's disappearance has been very difficult to explain to his children. "[His kids] wanted to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and for them it was hard to understand why their dad wasn't there," Casserly said.

Anoka Co. Armed Robbery Spree Ends With Bite From K-9 Cop

Three suspects are in police custody, and one is recovering from injuries sustained from a K-9 officer, after a robbery spree in Anoka County Thursday night. According to Blaine Police, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to three separate reports of armed robberies in the area between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The first report was on the 1000 block of County Road 10 in Spring Lake Park, the second was near Able Street Northeast and 87th Lane Northeast in Blaine and the third was on the 1100 block of 95th Avenue Northeast, also in Blaine. Descriptions from witnesses about the suspects, their vehicle and weapon (a shotgun or rifle) tied all three crimes together.
