Drug Busts Net $40K Of Meth, Five Arrests

Five people are in the Douglas County Jail after the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Task Force, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and local police departments made a series of methamphetamine-related busts this week. On Monday, agents and officers from Alexandria Police arrested 29-year-old Kyle Hildebrand of South Haven and 23-year-old Jami Johnson of Sauk Rapid. Undercover agents bought 106 grams of meth for $6,000 from Hildebrand and Johnson, which has a street value of over $21,000. They were both eventually charged with 1st-degree controlled substance sales crime.

Cops: Pot Growing Operation Busted In Alexandria

Police discovered an outdoor marijuana growing operation while serving a search warrant for an Alexandria man Friday, according to authorities. Alexandria Police, the Douglas County Sheriff's office and agents from the West Central Minn. Narcotics Task Force were executing a search warrant Friday for 46-year-old Warren McArdell at 9290 State Hwy 114 SW in Alexandria. While searching for McArdell on the property, which is owned by 53-year-old William James Doraska, authorities discovered a marijuana growing operation.
