Zucker's Shoot Out Goal Lifts Wild Over Blue Jackets, 3-2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jason Zucker scored the lone shootout goal and assisted on the tying goal to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in a preseason game Monday night.
Zucker's shot trickled under the outstretched left leg pad of Sergei Bobrovsky, who made 26 saves in regulation and overtime. Minnesota goalie Josh Harding thwarted all three Columbus attempts in the shootout with the last one from Matt Calvert hitting the post. Harding stopped 20 shots before the shootout.
The Blue Jackets' James Wisniewski made it 1-0 on a power-play goal at 6:19 of the second period, one-timing a setup from Marian Gaborik from the top of the left circle.
Keith Ballard skated onto a loose puck in the high slot and snapped a shot past Bobrovsky to tie it 11:36 into the last period. Zucker was credited with the first assist.
