Young Mankato Chef Is Finalist In Peanut Butter Contest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- While a young chef in Mankato can barely reach the counter, his culinary creation is getting national attention.

Seven-year-old Sullivan Jacob's recipe for the "Blue Monkey Pita" is one of five finalists in the Jiff Peanut Butter's Most Creative sandwich contest.

Jacob's creation is a French toast-dipped pita stuffed with blueberries, bananas and peanut butter.

The first grader says he came up with the idea one morning when he wanted French Toast and his younger brother wanted peanut butter and bananas.

The winner will be picked at the end of the month, and they'll get a $25,000 scholarship.
