Woodbury Man Convicted In Sex Trafficking Case
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 52-year-old Woodbury man was convicted by a jury in Minneapolis Federal Court Thursday in a sex trafficking case involving a 15-year-old girl.
Stevon Warren was convicted after a three-day trial on one count of sex trafficking a minor and one count of interstate transportation to engage in prostitution. Warren was charged on March 15 in connection with the incident.
Evidence presented at the trial showed Warren recruited and transported the girl, knowing she was under 18 and be caused to be engaged in a commericial sex act. Warren also transported an adult woman from Minnesota to Wisconsin for prostitution between November of 2008 and March 18, 2009.
Police learned of Warren's actions on Craigslist. Warren faces a maximum penalty of life in prison on the sex trafficking charge and up to 10 years in prison for the charge of interstate transportation to engage in prostitution.
