Woman In Custody After Chanhassen Massage Parlor Bust
CHANHASSEN, Minn. (WCCO) - A 37-year-old Eden Prairie woman is in Carver County jail pending charges of felony promotion of prostitution after deputies raided a Chanhassen massage parlor last Wednesday.
According to Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson, deputies served a search warrant at a massage business on the 7900 block of Stone Creek Drive in Chanhassen on the afternoon of Oct. 29.
Deputies targeted the business after allegations surfaced that employees were offering sexual services for a "$40-$50 tip."
Right before the warrant's execution, an undercover officer posed as a client and was offered sexual services for money.
When deputies arrived soon after, they found three women in three rooms, each with a male client, one of which was the officer.
The women were semi-clothed, and one of the men was nude.
The three women each confessed to engaging in prostitution. Deputies arrested a 37-year-old Eden Prairie woman, but booked and released the other two women: one from Savage, 35, and the other from Richfield, 31.
A search warrant was also served at the business owner's residence in Eden Prairie, where they found more evidence.
Sheriff Olson says prostitution is not a "victimless crime."
"Most sex workers are vulnerable and poor and duped into a life of dependency and abuse," Olson said.
The male clients were identified and released. The case is still under investigation.
