Woman Gets Probation In Embezzlement Case
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 29-year-old woman was sentenced to two years probation in Minneapolis Federal Court on Monday for embezzling more than $25,000 from the Social Security office she worked at.
Tiffannie Ollila was ordered to served two years probation on one count of theft of government money. She was also ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution, having already repaid some of the money stolen.
Ollila was indicted on Jan. 19 and pleaded guilty March 6.
According to the plea agreement, she admitted that from June 20 to Oct. 21, 2008, she stole money she had access to as an employee of the Social Security Administration in Itasca County. She wrote checks to herself and used electronic bill pay to pay her personal bills from clients' accounts.
