Woman Cited 4 Times In 1 Day For Speeding Identified
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The 49-year-old woman who received no fewer than four speeding tickets last week after flying down on I-90 as fast as 112 mph has been identified.
Loretta Lacy, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was heading to Racine, Wis. and trying to make it in time for her granddaughter's formal dance that evening.
Lacy was first stopped in Martin County at 2:25 p.m. after authorities received multiple complaints of her speeding, and weaving in and out of traffic. She was ticketed for speeding (she passed the trooper at 112 mph), no insurance and possession of marijuana.
Just 20 miles later, though she did slow down to 99 mph, she was again ticketed for speeding and no proof of insurance. At this point, Minnesota and Wisconsin State Patrols were advised, and on the lookout.
About 70 minutes later, Lacy was ticketed traveling at 88 mph in Freeborn County for speeding and no insurance.
The fourth and final ticket came before she entered Wisconsin, as she was going 88 mph in a 70 mph zone.
State Patrol Lieutenant Eric Roeske said all of her offenses are petty misdemeanors, so jailing Lacy wasn't an option.
After all of the traffic stops, she did not make it to Racine in time for her granddaughter's dance, Roeske said.
Lacy faces more than $500 in fines.
