Woman Charged With Biting Off Husband's Tongue
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin woman accused of biting off her husband's tongue has been charged with mayhem.
Fifty-seven-year-old Karen Lueders made an appearance in Sheboygan County Circuit Court Tuesday where she was ordered to have a mental health evaluation.
A criminal complaint says Lueders was singing Christmas carols outside her house Monday night when police were called. It says she blew a party horn in an officer's ear and threw a coffee cup at police.
The complaint says 79-year-old William Lueders was found inside the house, holding gauze to his mouth. The Sheboygan Press says Lueders told police in a written statement that his wife went into a "manic state" when he kissed her while she was in the bathroom. He says his wife grabbed his genitals and bit off his tongue.
