Woman Battling Stage 4 Cancer Asks For Help Finding Support Dog
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Hugo woman battling cancer is asking for help finding her support dog.
Laura DuVall said her 5-year-old Pug-Corgi mix Molly went missing a month ago.
"She was not a dog that ran away, ever," DuVall said. "She loved it here."
She says that the day Molly went missing was just like any other day.
DuVall let Molly outside for a few minutes near Highway 61 and 170th Street. Usually, the 27-pound dog would come right back, but that day she didn't return.
"Everyone misses her so much, even [my] other dogs do," DuVall said. "They keep looking for her all the time."
To her, Molly was more than just a pet. The two of them were inseparable.
"When I was going through my cancer treatments, she never left my side," DuVall said. "So, she's very important to me."
DuVall is battling Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She says she doesn't know if she could have made it this far without Molly.
"She made everything a lot easier with me, just knowing she was there," DuVall said. "People can't be there all the time with you when you're sick, but a dog can. And she was."
She thinks someone may have picked Molly up and has her now.
"If someone has her, I just hope they bring her back," DuVall said. "Call me and I'll go get her."
