Woman Accused In Stabbing On Metro Transit Bus
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 20-year-old Minneapolis woman is accused of stabbing another woman after an altercation on a Metro Transit bus last weekend, according to charges filed Friday in Hennepin County Court.
Drucilla Pennilla Pickens was charged with felony counts of second-degree assault and third-degree assault in connection with the incident.
According to a criminal complaint, Metro Transit Police were called to a report of a stabbing last Sunday on a Metro Transit bus that was stopped at Penn and Oak Avenues in Minneapolis. When authorities arrived, they learned that two women had been arguing over a man on the bus.
Pickens called her sister for help, and the two proceeded to fight with another woman on the bus. The victim tried to spray the two with mace, and the two sisters tried to pull the victim off the bus. Pickens then pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in the back and sliced her neck, according to the complaint.
Pickens then dropped the knife and fled the scene with her sister. The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and treated for a punctured lung. Police arrested Pickens, and she admitted she lost her temper and cut the victim.
If convicted, Pickens is facing more than two years in jail and $30,000 in fines.
