Wolves Welcome Randolph But Role Uncertain
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Anthony Randolph has joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, eager to get some playing time after being stuck on the bench for most of the season with the New York Knicks.
The 6-foot-11 Randolph was at Target Center for Minnesota's game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. The 21-year-old came as part of the Carmelo Anthony megadeal.
Coach Kurt Rambis says he's not sure adding another young player to an already young team is a good move, but he says the team is "very, very intrigued" by Randolph's size, versatility and athleticism. Rambis says he's not sure how much Randolph will play.
Randolph scored 35 points over 17 games with the Knicks. The Timberwolves could play him at center or either of the forward spots.
