WNBA Champion Lynx To Have Breakfast With Governor, Parade
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Lynx fans can honor the 2015 WNBA champions Friday morning in downtown Minneapolis.
A parade for the Lynx starts at 11:30 a.m. on 12th Street and Hennepin Avenue, and ends at Target Center for a celebration shortly after noon.
The Lynx won their third championship in five years Wednesday night after beating the Indiana Fever in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals.
They celebrated with champagne in the locker room, then a dance party at Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen.
President Barack Obama called Coach Cheryl Reeve to congratulate her Thursday. The team will again visit the White House.
They will be at the Governor's Mansion Friday for a pre-parade breakfast. Gov. Dayton will proclaim Friday "Minnesota Lynx Day."
