WNBA Champion Lynx Open Training Camp
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Lynx are opening their training camp as they prepare to begin defense of their WNBA title.
The Lynx are holding their first practice of the new season on Sunday. All five starters — Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Rebekkah Brunson — will miss the start of camp while they finish their seasons overseas.
The Lynx rolled through the season and then breezed through WNBA playoffs last season to capture the franchise's first championship. All five starters will return from last year's team and the Lynx added first-rounder Deveraux Peters to bolster their depth.
They open the season on May 20 against the Phoenix Mercury.
