With Moss Gone, Vikings Receivers In The Spotlight
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Vikings are moving on without Randy Moss, and the responsibility for replacing him falls on all of the remaining receivers.
Sidney Rice hasn't played yet this season, and there has been no timetable declared for his return. But the spotlight is shining just as much on Rice as it is on the rest of Minnesota's receivers, as he pushes to rejoin the offense 2 1/2 months after having hip surgery.
Rice has resumed practicing with the team this week. He said Thursday he has "most likely" ruled out returning to the field Sunday to face Arizona. The Vikings have up until Nov. 24 to add him to the active roster.
Rice said he was sore after practicing Wednesday, but that he ran well and felt good about his progress.
